Stacker Forklift Attachments

A pallet stacker is a variety of pallet jack that is employed to transport, stack and haul palletized cargo that are too difficult for manual lifting. Its main function is to load and unload pallets on vehicles, as well as transferring pallets to and from various locations within a storage space or warehouse. For the most part pallet stackers are constructed of heavy duty materials to withstand tremendous weights. Pallet stackers are occasionally called pallet jacks. They may be operated from a seated, upright or walk-behind position. Pallet stackers are separated into manual and powered types.

Pallet stackers are commonly comprised of a pair of forks that are able to slide underneath a pallet, capable of raising to a preferred height or transporting it to a specified location. The motor compartment or casing houses the gas-run, electronic or hydraulic gear that powers the appliance.

Manual pallet stackers are hand-powered. They work hydraulically to make lifting heavy pallets an easier task. Usually a walk-behind version meaning they are operated by pulling and pushing the stacker to its desired location. Using a foot pedal or handle raises the stacker's forks. Squeezing a lever or trigger returns the forks to the ground. These models of pallet stackers are ideal for lighter loads of up to approximately 1 ton or 907.18 kg.

Most stackers can accommodate the raising of extreme weights to around 5 tons with either the gas or electric models. They are physically less demanding to control than the manual versions thanks to the hydraulic power that elevates and lowers the forks. These versions are steered by rotating the handle in a specific direction. There is a button on the handle that functions to hoist and lower the forks. A throttle set up on the stacker's handle moves the device forward and in reverse. This type of equipment is generally known as a lift truck and is operated from a sit-down position.

Picking the right model of pallet jack may be somewhat critical as machines will have varying lift functionality, along with varying fork widths. Some designs of stackers might only permit two pallets to be loaded at one time, whilst other versions might be capable to load several pallets. Some versions of these forklifts feature an adjustable fork in order to permit the jack to slide under pallets of unusual sizes and shapes. These versions are helpful when an assortment of kinds of pallets are used within a workspace.
