 Vallejo Forklift Attachments - Vallejo City is the largest city within Solano County, located on the north-eastern shore of San Pablo Bay. The city got its name after General Mariano Guadalupe and has an estimated population of 120,000.
There are a lot of major centers providing employment within the area including: Oakland, San Fransisco, Berkeley, Tri Valley area and Walnut Creek/Concord. Via the existing transportation system, these places are easily reachable.
There are numerous important highways that run close to the city, consisting of the State Highways 37 and 29, as well as the Interstate Highways 80 and 780. These highways make it extremely easy for people who work in the major cities nearby to get there and back. The Vallejo Bay Link Ferry, that takes less then one hour to move from San Fransisco to Vallejo, is utilized by over 2000 people every day. The Union Pacific offers rail freight service, and Vallejo Transit provides bus connections to the Bay Area Rapid Transit System and service across town.
There are a couple of private airports in the nearby area, that consist of facilities at Napa County Airport and Buchanan Field in Concord. Within 50 miles there are three main commercial airports, which comprise Oakland, San Francisco and Sacramento. Shipping opportunities for companies are vast, with ports situated within Sacramento, San Fransisco, Oakland and Richmond.
The oldest naval base west of Mississippi used to be located on Mare Island. Ever since its decommission during the year 1996, new houses have been planned and built on it's previous location. Touro University, that is situated on the island's south side, is planning on opening a state of the art cancer research facility. One economic plan of Vallejo is to revive Mare Island, which will be done by the structure of new neighborhoods. There is lots of rich history and an abundance of national historic landmarks located here, none the least of which is the one of the nations oldest decommissioned shipyard and naval bases. Together with these, there is also a 19th century brick industrial warehouse and some coal shed artist studios. A couple of other famous historic landmarks are the Officers mansions, Alden Park and Chapel Park (designated historic landscapes), and the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi. Finally, the Saint Peters Chapel, which was built during the year 1901, houses the biggest collection of stain-glass windows made by Louis Comfort Tiffany.
